Seeds of Revival
Overview
In the summer of 2022, thousands of people came together for the Unite San Antonio two-night worship event at the Alamodome. Hosted by the Scott Dawson Foundation and backed by over a hundred local ministries, the event resonated with the power of collective devotion. The goal was to create an environment where people from diverse backgrounds could encounter the transformative power of the Gospel. And our hope is that after reading the stories within this series, Let Us Unite, it will become evident that God has been working in San Antonio for generations.
If you were among those who witnessed the extraordinary happenings at the Alamodome in 2022 and speculated that God was forging a new path, it is worth considering a deeper truth. San Antonio's vibrant history is a testament to the prayers, prophetic revelations, and investments of many people. God's ongoing work builds upon a rich foundation established by those who came before us.
Highlighted in this series are evangelist stories brought about by the discovery of a panoramic photo of a 1925 baptism in San Pedro Springs Park. Digging into these stories gives a glimpse into San Antonio's spiritual journey from hotspots of revival to, we pray, becoming a model that sparks a nationwide movement for Christ.
As we navigate the currents of San Antonio, let us remember that God's work is not limited to singular events or momentous occurrences. It is a continuous thread woven through the tapestry of history, connecting the past, present, and future.
Our Calling
As God weaves this tapestry, his mandate to His people is clear----go forth and spread the Gospel. It is our primary responsibility as believers to start right where we are, with family, friends and the stranger God puts in your path. Believers are called to sow the seeds of the Gospel.
Let’s embrace our universal calling to be disciples, recognizing that our responsibility is to scatter the seed of the Gospel generously without worrying about the type of soil it falls on. This series of articles may only scratch the surface of this profound topic, but our hope is that it will inspire the people of San Antonio to action regarding the future of our city through the lens of our shared mission as followers of Christ.
